Lucy is responsible for supervising the firm’s Wills, probate, estate administration and real estate settlements departments. Lucy serves clients directly in more complex matters in these areas. Lucy's experience includes the preparation of Applications for Consent Orders and administration of the family law services.
Lucy led the development the firm’s on-the-spot services, including our custom-built interactive instruction forms which enable us to provide a faster, better quality and more cost effective client experience for applications for Probate, Letters of Administration and Wills in one client consultation.
Lucy’s high standards, ability to lead and inspire others and facility with computerised information systems have been instrumental in the firm bringing new and innovative legal services to the market.
Working side-by-side with technology partner ContactsLaw, in 2011 Lucy developed systems that enabled Flat Rate Settlements to dramatically reduce costs and improve service quality. Leveraging these benefits and its flat-rate pricing model, the firm brought revolutionary change to the conveyancing industry in Western Australia.
Lucy’s innovations have changed, and will continue to change, the way lawyers do business.
Lucy is a talented lawyer, business administrator and manager. In her eight years with Birman & Ride she has developed her skills in various roles including lawyer, team leader, HR manager, business analyst, salesperson and marketing manager.
Lucy’s favourite role, however, is mentoring and coaching law undergraduates and junior lawyers and assisting them with their professional development. Lucy co-ordinates the firm’s in-house professional training program and spends much of her time pondering how the firm and its junior employees can grow together for mutual advantage.
Lucy brought her daughter to work with her until she was 10 months old and now works flexible hours and partly from home. Since becoming a mum, Lucy has become passionate about supporting and encouraging working mothers to fulfil their career ambitions.
